I can't believe I can finish this medical theme drama. Usually I don't get along well with medical drama, I can't past few first episodes or avoid it like a plague altogether. The fact that its focus is not on medical procedure that makes it bearable to me. I dislike it when medical drama, making doctor in over dramatic arc, like they are superman or batman or ironman or something but the fact that it is just like any other job in the world. Doctor perhaps looks like a hero but everyone is a hero in their own way.
What is so great about it that it focuses on the romance and its plotlessness. I have the idea that its plotlessnesss is the reason behind its good rating (around 20% in average). After long tired day of work who wants to watch a drama about people stabbing other people at their back, doing scheming, cheating, ridiculous noble idiocy, childish jealousy, all the makjang things when you can watch drama about two people have a mature relationship and life goes on like wind breeze....
I used to protest and had side eye roll when a couple in drama start to have a fight and separate just because feeble misunderstanding which can be simply resolved when they can simply sit together as an adult and talk, no I mean real communication, not just exchanging words. The misunderstanding dragged on and on until the last 2 episodes when it miraculously just ends and resolves with little to no effort but being dramatised which only bring me to duh! Here gone to waste all my tears, anger, and emotion. But this kind of plot has their own fun if only for doing a mockery to the screen.
The premise is Yoo Hye-jung (Park Shin-hye) is a trouble teenage girl who successfully becomes a neurosurgeon. She meets with Hong Ji-hong (Kim Rae-won) in high school while he serves as replacement teacher when he takes break from his medical school. They are separated, and meet again when both of them have already become neurosurgeon. And the romance begins.

After 12 episodes. I really think the writer-nim is really running out of idea to write more plot twists. But I really don't mind, watching the episodes for Kim Rae-won and Park Shin-hye cuddling and giggling together brings smile to my face. The drama should just end at episode 16, because after that there're so many product replacements, and everybody get brain cancer like they catch flu lol. Anyway, Kim Rae-won is such a charming as Hong Ji-hong, I never thought he is this cute since Love Story in Harvard. I really love how they styling him here, cropped pants and sneaker, his tie and shirt combination is just perfect. His haircut is fabulous also makes him looked so much younger.
The pants just ends at the right length, not too long, and not too short. I think it is kind of tricky sometimes wearing cropped pants, if it is too short, it is like you don't have the pants in the right size, if it is too long you don't get the height illusion you want from cropped pants or you look even shorter.
And the shoes, Hong Ji-hong just has the right kind of shoes suited for cropped pants. There's kind of shoes that I think just doesn't match with cropped pants, I think the back of the shoes shouldn't be too low from the ankles.
And his tie and shirt combination. I love above light blue shirt splashed with white dots combined with textured navy blue tie above or the white shirt with black polkadot combined with black tie below. At one of episodes, Hong Ji-hong wore white shirt with dark blue for the flap of the pockets at the both side of the breasts and the collar shirt. When it is combined with dark tie, it is just perfect. Who is styling this guy?? Can I kiss you? :) Where I can find a doctor like this? None my friends are, I'm sure of it :D
