Taste the awesomesausce of 10cm 십센치. And how clever this video's PD nim is. He shows us the most interesting thing of this 10cm live performance. Take a look at the introducing part of the video, no I don't mean the smoking part (Kids don't try that at home or anywhere, smoking is bad and un-cool) but at how the vocalist of 10cm discussed with the cajon player about how the cajon should be played. And that is it, the blend between the cajon sound and the acoustic guitar sound is just marvelous. I LOVE it. I don't think without that cajon sound, the guitar sound would be this intriguing me. It is good but not special. And I can not but laughing at the song 기타로 오토바이를 타자 Let’s Ride The Motorbike With Guitar . The whole lyric is so incoherent, for the sake of ending rhyme. Like the lyricist is playing with us, oh lol. But that is fun. What? you want us to focus on listening music? Let's listen to the music then and taja...

So after releasing their 1st full length album, 1집 1.0, on February 2011, 10cm keep us amused with involving in many compilation albums and projects. That song above is included in Reborn Tribute to Sanullim project, kind of Tribute90 project by Daum music. Considering the fact that Sanullim 산울림 is one of Korean greatest rock band. The proof? They have their own wiki page written in English. That is my stupidest way to measure how big and famous Korean artist are when their working period were way passed me. Did I told you already that I like With Kim Kwan-seok Tribute album? And there's 10cm sings one of Kim Kwan-seok. How sad the song is ㅠ.ㅠ. Something about Kim Kwan-seok's sad songs that brings the familiar sadness, loneliness and desperation to me. There is a song that I can understand why it is sad, but I can't relate neither it brings me some empathy. But Kim Kwan-seok's songs just bring me there, understand and full of empathy. The combination between the music and the simple lyric. How much I love lyric full of metaphor, the simple lyric is the one that usually got me. No matter how incoherent it is?? ah lol.

My favorite compilation album of the year goes to MintPaper Cafe: Night & Day. And there's 10cm play one of the song in this album, too. Sigh. Supposed 10cm is created just for me, to create music suited my taste? :p Heaven knows. In this 10cm plays its own song 안아줘요 Hugs Me:

First encounter with 10cm? (How on earth you don't know 10cm. I kid J). 10cm is one of duo group in the sea of Group and Girl/Boy band in Korean music scene (I don't know why so hard to find a solo artist in SK. Is it correlated with the high sense of kinship? Because that also what happen in Indonesia).But you can not miss them, because 10cm, consisted 권정열 Kwon Jung Yeol - percussion and main vocalist and윤철종 Yoon Cheol Jong - vocal, guitar, tambourine, is just one of the kind, the finest one. Usually people start to fan 10cm from their song 아메리카노 Americano (type of coffee drink). That song is like the caffeine itself, it is addicting. It stuck in your head and makes caffeine affect. ame, ame, ame, ame, joa, joa, joa,.

And of course you have to check the lyric. Because ROK government banned that song because its freaking lyric. Gah. Don't ask me which part because I don't find any thing is worth banning! One word: just silly act from the government. But the song that made me ship 10cm was not Americano, it is 오늘밤은 어둠이 무서워요 Tonight, I'm Afraid Of The Dark. This song is from 10cm the 1st EP album on April 2010. You have to check the lyric too J. Not because it got banned. No. It is because this song lyric is just quirk. So you are not afraid of the dark any more, just thinking about the lyric make you feel warm. Yeah that kind of warm that you get when somebody sings you a funny song just for the shake of your laugh and forget what make you afraid of.

The last, the rant. I know, you know the habit of Korean in naming their boy/girl group with some hideous name aiming so that people easily to remember make a fun of it. From using combination of number and letter which doesn't work for some people like me (SS5... What? B14 something, 2N you know), till name that represents something, except the music, from the music group, like body part or the size of underwear. So heading from there, when people from that world hear "10cm", the first thing that comes from their mind is... yes that body part. I won't say those people are ignorant and no it doesn't come off as funny either, I don't laugh. But seriously above anything else those people can only think of that? Too much watching leggy young girls' MV?? Shirtless teenage boys' MV?? For the consideration my high heel's height is 10cm too. So I write here so no one will make the same mistake (I know those people can't help it. It just irks me, mind you). They named their group 10cm because 10cm is the different between two member of 10cm's height. Yeah it doesn't give more sensible reason behind the naming, but at least they didn't name their group Cup D or excuse me Creal read as cereal?
