I know a lot of people, like me, who got introduce to Korean music world in general whether it is K pop or K indie through K drama. For K drama beginners, if you can take a peek inside their playlists, you can see that their playlist consist of K drama OSTs , English songs or other songs in whatever language these fans speak with.  As the years gone by, the love grown, and these K drama fans start to reach out for something more, anything that begin with K suddenly charming and enchanting, language, culture, music, fashion, cuisine you name it. So that playlist that at first consist only K drama OSTs, evolves into something that consist more than K drama OSTs, there are K pop songs and K indie songs. And without they realize, there is less and less English and other language songs in their playlist. Yeah they suck you in, just like that. Don’t tell me I don’t warn you before.

During my hiatus, I almost couldn’t believe my ears when I heard the high pitch voice that out of the ordinary I love it. Wait J rabbit sings Operation Proposal OST?!? *squee* I know, I know, many K indie artists have already sung K drama OSTs. I wouldn’t know As One, Lovecholic, Lucia, Taru, PIA, Every Single Day, Hee Young, W&Whale, Lucite Tokkie if they haven’t ever sung K drama OSTs before. Because they are not in the main stream, it is harder to get us exposure with their music than K pop acts in general, let alone some information of their existence in English. How to love something that we don’t even know it exists? Since my other ultimate K indie artist bias is disinterest to get involved in making K drama OST, I couldn’t hide my surprise when J rabbit did what I wish.

Music is transcendent race, religion, nationality, and language barrier.  Sometime I think good music sells itself without has to have too much promotion. No flashy music video. No complicated dance move. No blink blink cloths. No special epic theme. All its need is a chance to be listened. There’re Sound Cloud, Youtube, My Space where you can up load your good music. Well, if your music is as good as you think it is. I think you will do with a load of luck just fine, even if it takes time. Good music doesn't lie. And I’ll be glad to have a chance to listen since I can’t create it my own.

But wait have I mentioned K drama before? Yes, K drama. I think it can be included in one of effective promotion medias. For that it should never be forgotten. There’s so many thing that are passed through underneath K drama beside the story itself.  And having a visual addition attached to the song is really help a song grabbing its listeners’ attention and stuck in their brain without they even realize. And till you forget what do you like first, the song or the scene? You like the drama scene so you like the song, or because you like how the song creates certain atmosphere to the drama scene so that you like it?
